How Often Should I Wash my Pillows and Protectors?-Gotta Sleep®

As you can't wash a mattress without the risk of it developing mold and mildew, protectors are the perfect solution to a clean, hygienic sleep environment. by reducing premature foam breakdown caused by body moisture, a mattress protector will extend the life of your mattress, while at the same time protecting it from bacteria, odors, allergens, mold and mildew.

A Mattress Protector Reduces Allergens.

If you or someone in your family has allergies or asthma, you'll benefit from our antimicrobial mattress protectors. Your pillow and mattress easily collect and trap allergens like dust mites, skin and hair cells. In fact, a typical mattress can contain approximately 100,000 to 10 million dust mites! Every time you turn over, you’re releasing those allergens into the air and breathing them in. Having a pillow and mattress protector allows you to wash away those allergens easily and regularly.

How Often Should I Wash my Pillows and Protectors?

You can wash your protectors as often as you like, but we recommend you wash them along with your sheets. If your pillows are protected by pillow protectors, you probably never have to wash them. Simply remove and wash your pillow protectors along with your sheets.

There are some additional things you can do to improve the health of your sleep environment. Vacuuming your mattress regularly, reducing the humidity in your home, and using Micro-Gel, memory foam, or latex pillows and Micro-Gel duvets can all help reduce dust mites and allergens, and make for a better sleep environment.

Those that shower before they go to bed at night, and wash their sheets weekly get sick way less than those that shower in the morning and wash their sheets less often. When we got to bed without an evening shower, perspiration and secretions from our bodies carry viruses and bacteria we picked up during the day to our sheets and protectors, so showering before bed is a good idea.

Mattress Protectors are Easily Washable.

You can’t wash your mattress, but you can wash a mattress protector. Imagine sleeping in the same pajamas for 10 years without washing them? Using a quality antimicrobial, waterproof mattress protector is the most cost-effective way to keep your mattress fresh and give you a cleaner, healthier sleep environment.

Gotta Sleep offers two quality waterproof, breathable, washable, antimicrobial mattress protectors .. the perfect barrier between your mattress and moisture, bacteria, allergens, dust mites, pathogens, mold, mildew and spills and stains. For those that like a cooler sleep, one of them sleeps cooler than the other. Last but not least, both of our protectors are infused with antimicrobial silver ion agents to fight against bacteria.
